About the role
As Google's products and services grow to serve our billions of users, the Strategic Negotiation team works behind the scenes to secure infrastructure for Google's future. It's a big job that involves everything from operating underwater cables to finding data center space. In this role you combine your deep market knowledge with tech industry savvy to find solutions that support Google's growth.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the market strategy for data center acquisition and development within the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland).
- Lead discussion for data center capacity, securing colocation leases and development agreements with operators, developers, and financial partners.
- Build and manage an opportunity pipeline by performing market analysis and cultivating key relationships with industry partners, economic officials, and utilities.
- Drive projects from conception to completion by leading cross-functional collaboration with internal teams, including Capacity Planning, Energy, Design, Construction, and Legal.
- Manage the existing DACH portfolio, overseeing growth strategy, developing performance metrics, and reporting on progress, financials, and market trends to executive leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Real Estate, Finance, Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6 years of experience leading negotiations and business development.
- Experience negotiating or supporting the negotiation of bilateral real estate agreements, managing projects of varying sizes and timelines.
- Ability to communicate in German fluently to support client relationship management in this region.
